What We Did
This bathroom was designed around warm natural materials, subtle variation, and a few statement pieces that give the space its personality. The shower is wrapped floor-to-ceiling in natural stone tile, with each piece carrying its own variation in tone and texture. The shower walls were finished in a basket-weave travertine. Because travertine is a natural stone, every piece has its own color, movement, and variation even tiles from the same box can look completely different. That’s why dry laying the material before installation is so important. Without planning the layout first, similar tones can accidentally group together and create noticeable patches in the finished wall. A recessed mitered niche is integrated into the tiled wall, while frameless glass keeps the shower open and allows the stonework to remain the focus. At the vanity, a full-height large format porcelain tile feature wall creates a backdrop for the oversized gold mirror and glass sconces. The warm, textured wood vanity adds another natural element, balanced by a white countertop and polished plumbing fixtures.
